The long-awaited sophomore full length album from California/South Carolina based two-man project Atrocity. With over two years in the writing/conceptual process, “Abhorrent Defacement of Purity” elaborates on the ills of modern religion, spiritual depravity and the arrogance of man and sees Atrocity bringing together influences from the in-your-face aggression of slam, the speed and technicality of brutal death metal, and the right amount of groove to create an album that is diverse yet familiar to fans new and old, breaking the stereotype that the particular sub-genres can be tedious and boring. This 10 track slab of vicious, unrelenting brutal death metal showcases Atrocity in a technically advanced, more matured state compared to their debut effort “The Disease of Humanity”, venturing into new territories as well as staying true to their slam/deathcore roots.
