Rotting Serpent - Breathless Mourning 2013

SU ULTIMO TRABAJO ESTA BUENISIMO DISFRUTALO

The first primarily Doom-focused release since "The Last Noel."
There has been some experimentation and flirtations with Doom Metal (and other styles) on many Rotting Serpent albums even going back to the very first recording Seduced by the Ghosts of Rotting Serpents (see track "The Midnight Blood Dripping from the Moon" clocking in at 17min. give or take). This being primarily due to my earliest extreme metal roots being in the Death/Doom style.
It was because of this experimentation with Doom-Metal that I did not finally release these albums under a different project name, as was my first thought. I figured that, since Rotting Serpent wasn't new to Doom territory, and with the added benefit of having released The Last Noel anyway last Christmas, it just made sense to shift the project in that direction. It wouldn't hurt anything at all.
Breathless Mourning wasn't first conceptualized to be the "part one" of any series of albums, and it's only by noteworthy coincidence that it's predecessor Christian Funeral seems to be it's obvious companion. In fact, I only realized just how similar they were, and how well they fit together, after listening to them both back-to-back. All this is to say that, this wasn't intended as any "double-album" in two separate releases, but that's how it turned out and I'm cool with it.
